Division One

HOSTS Knowle came from behind to snatch a share of the
spoils against Brakes on Saturday.
Despite dominating much of the game, Barry Proctor and Jason Cadden's men
could have few complaints with the result. But had they cemented their
first-half efforts with a second goal it could all have been different.
Top scorer Josh Blake put Brakes ahead, beating the offside trap to latch
onto a long through ball.
Third-placed Knowle were under-pressure and had to scramble the ball away
to safety soon afterwards. Brian Agar went close, but the well-organised
Knowle defence held firm.
The home side seized their moment six minutes before the interval,
breaking swiftly and sending a free header past keeper Richard Morris.
A string of corners failed to wrest the initiative back from the fired-up
home side.
Things were more evenly matched after the break, with Morris and centre
back Tom Sidwell both playing a key role for Brakes.
Agar headed just wide at the other end and Nick Mort tried his luck after
coming off the bench to revitalise his side. Blake missed a good Steve
Thompson cross and Mort headed just over the bar to frustrate the large
travelling support, but the result was a fair one.
