HOTSHOT Paul Nicholls scored twice as Brakes maintained the pressure on Icis Midland Combination Premier Division leaders Rugby Town on Wednesday night.

Despite their lowly league position, the Redditch-based side made a real contest of the game, playing with attacking confidence after scoring their second goal soon after the re-start.
Co-manager Jason Cadden said: "That goal gave them a real second wind and they kept coming at us after that.
"We defended well but they made a real game of it."
Midfielder Glen Webb put Brakes in front after 18 minutes, heading home Brian Agar's cross from ten yards out following good approach work from Nicholls.

Feckenham were level after 25 minutes, benefiting from a rare goalkeeping error when Myles Day allowed the ball to slip through his grasp and into the top of the net.

The home side's joy was soon dispelled when Nicholls poked in the first part of his brace after good work by the industrious Webb.
Webb was also involved in the third goal, linking well with Agar for the in-form Nicholls to finish.

That all happened by the half-hour mark. But it the result was not a foregone conclusion.
Feckenham pounced on slack defending to cut the arrears with a header from a corner on 50 minutes. The home side had the best of it after that, but failed to break down a sturdy defence.
