Leamington 5 Meir KA 2  - 02/11/02 - Willie Knibbs Memorial Trophy Round 3
Taken from the Leamington Courier Online

DARREN Timms scored a second-half hat-trick to keep Brakes in the Willie Knibbs Memorial Challenge Cup hat at a soggy New Windmill on Saturday. Josh Blake went closer twice in a lively opening display, but his side had to wait until the 33rd minute to score. Glen Webb got it, running at the defence and driving superbly into the top corner.

Chris Hanrahan hit the bar before Blake suggested he was returning to form with a good finish from a Timms through ball to double the lead on 38 minutes.

Meir pulled one back early in the second half. Timms drove in a Nick Mort cross to restore Brakes' supremacy but still Meir were not done, scoring from the spot to set up an absorbing last 15 minutes. But any thoughts of a comeback were snuffed out when Timms drove in his
second from a Blake flick-on.
